Hi, I'm Rich Smith
My first real study into the art of photography was studying for my A Level in Photography. Here I learnt invaluable knowledge in using a 35mm film SLR, learning traditional techniques, darkroom experience and the art of ‘learning to see’.
It was a few years later thanks to the generosity of my parents I received my first digital SLR – a Nikon D60. With this I began taking images of local sport and landmarks and soon I was asked if I would like to photograph my first wedding. Nervously, I accepted a new passion was born.
I live and work within the famous daffodil dale of Farndale. Surrounded by beauty I'm extremely fortunate to capture my surroundings as I work for local holiday cottages keeping on top of gardening and maintenance.
As parents, me and my wife promote the great outdoors to our two children and I love documenting that journey along the way
Photographing my own pet, Pippa gained national recognition when I won the Go Outdoors Get Britain Outdoors photography competition. I have also had wedding photos published in the national newspapers.
